Our Vision

A Church Pursuing and Proclaiming Jesus

We believe that the chief pursuit of the Christian life is to know Jesus Christ. When a person pursuing Jesus experiences the profound reality of who He is, they can’t help but proclaim Him in their sphere of influence whether it be their neighborhood, their city, or the nation of the earth.

When people look into Mainspring, we want them to see a group of people actively pursuing relationship with Jesus and so preoccupied with Him that He is the central proclamation of our lives and conversation.

Our Mission

Our mission is the “Great Commission.” We will seek to make disciples who are committed followers of Jesus and influenced by His Spirit. We want to help people experience the profound love of God and the abundant life that is only found in Jesus.

At Mainspring we exist to help people experience the love of God so powerfully that they can’t help but respond by giving all they are to Jesus making Him Lord in their lives.

Our Approach

Jesus must have first place in everything.

In everything we do, Christ will be the focus of our attention, affection and devotion. He will define every dimension of the Christian experience for us. Our aim will be to reflect His character, methods and mission in our lives and ministries. In our lives and ministries, we will seek above all things, to bring maximum glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:18, Colossians 3:11, 1 Corinthians 2:2, 2 Corinthians 4:5

We pursue Jesus to know Him.

We believe that our highest calling in life is to know God personally and intimately and then make Him known to others in that personal, intimate context. The passionate pursuit of intimate relationship with God is to overflow into every arena of our life and ministry. We believe that it is God’s “real, manifest” presence that best draws people to Himself. Toward that end, we will seek to demonstrate a lifestyle of worship so that we are consciously bearing His presence with us in all that we do.

Matthew 15:8-9, John 4:23-24

We are called into relationship.

We believe that Christianity is a relational faith—it is about relationship with God and people. We also believe that we cannot fully embrace relationship with Christ without fully embracing relationship with His people. Fellowship (sharing our lives together) is the means through which relationships are built and strengthened within the Christian context. We value relationships over ritual, friendship over function, and prioritize people over property and programs. We will focus on being friends of Jesus and sharing our lives together.

We equip Jesus disciples to proclaim Him.

As leaders who are equipped and called by God to train and equip God’s people for ministry. We will work to fully activate each member of the body into a gift-appropriate sphere of ministry service. We believe that the church is to be an equipping station, for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission.

Ephesians 4:11-12, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;”
